NEVER FORGET…

a tribute album to our military families for their support, sacrifice and dedication to our nation and to all those whose lives were lost or affected by the devastating events of 9/11/2001. Developed by Seasong Recording Label utilizing the talent of some of today’s most respected and legendary Nashville artists, this CD is a compilation of the American spirit – and as Americans we will never forget our heroes.

In honor of the christening of the USS New York Navy ship in New Orleans this past spring, the event featured live performances of the songs “Never Forget” (by two-time Grammy winner Rebecca Lynn Howard) and “USS New York” (by the legendary Charlie Daniels).

The connection with the amphibious transport dock ship is a significant part of the story of Never Forget, in that the materials used for the USS New York came in part from seven and a half tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center Towers. According to Sherry Johnson and Liem Walker, owners of Seasong Records, the independent label releasing the CD, it was important to align this release with the christening and eventual commissioning of the USS New York because it is the ship and all that it stands for that inspired this collection of songs.

"It is important to keep in perspective that in the face of great adversity, there was great courage and strength shown that day in New York and throughout our nation, and that is a large part of what the American Spirit is all about," Walker added.

In addition to Rebecca Lynn Howard and Charlie Daniels, the CD will feature new music from country music superstars Aaron Tippin, Tracy Lawrence, George Jones, Pam Tillis, Tanya Tucker, Michael Peterson, Randy Travis and Darryl Worley, as well as newcomers Lloyd Knight, Leah Faith and Justin Ryan. Much of the CD's original music was written by Anita Cox (Freedom Hill Publishing). What better gift than for Nashville’s finest to support and create a dedication to our nation’s finest – our military men and women, our firemen and police, and the families who stood by and became the strength of hope that our nation needed.

Marketing to Military Group (MMG), an organization founded by military spouses, found out about the album and wanted to help. As Roxanne Reed (Founder of MMG) states, “we wanted to help in any way possible. It is important that our nation always remembers the dedication of our families and service members who keep this nation safe.” Roxanne has a personal connection to this album because her husband was attached to one of the first Marine Battalions to be sent to Afghanistan after that fateful day.

“I remember watching the news of our towers being struck and coming home to find my husband packing his gear for immediate deployment,” Roxanne states. “With tears in my eyes I was in awe of the dedication of my husband to his call to service. The spouses and I felt a sense of pride knowing that we, too, were being asked to contribute to our nation’s support by running the families while they took care of the country’s needs.”

Seasong Records has brought this project full circle by making sure to give back to the community that protects this great nation. Through a show of support and donation, Hope For The Warriors™, an organization dedicated to helping wounded service members through rehabilitation and family support, will be the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this amazing CD.
