NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 23, 2010 – Twenty-six survivors of the Battle of Iwo Jima gathered last Saturday night at the
Chateau Briand in Carle Place, NY, to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the celebrated World War II event. The Iwo
Jima Survivor’s Association teamed up with Hope For The Warriors® to host the dinner as a benefit, attracting more than
425 attendees and raising more than $30,000.
New York, NY, February 23, 2010 – Hope For The Warriors® presents Above & Beyond, a professional course developed
to assist wounded service members transition into a new phase of their career by providing professional tools and one-on-one
guidance. This seminar will help each participant pinpoint their strengths and discover how those strengths can be
utilized in the civilian or government sectors as well as opportunities to further their education. This course is open
to all wounded service members, including active duty members.
SIMONTON, TX, February 19, 2010 – ConocoPhillips and Team Trident will partner with Hope For The Warriors® to
host the 2nd Annual Sporting Clay Tournament at Rio Brazos Hunting Preserve on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Rio Brazos is

Residents of The Villages in Florida are preparing to ride
into history as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest golf car parade.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Buffalo Fields located on County Rd. 466 in The Villages.

join hundreds of others in the Long Beach Polar Bear Club "Super Bowl Sunday Splash" held annually
at the beach along Long Beach Blvd., Long Island on Super Bowl Sunday. Scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on
Sunday February 7, 2010, this year’s Polar Bear Plunge marks the 10th anniversary of the event that
last year raised more than $300,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
EVANSTON, IL, January 25, 2010 — Nineteen martial arts students at Fonseca Martial Arts (FMA) kicked it up for
charity, completing a total of 39,466 kicks and collecting pledges for Hope For The Warriors®, a national non-profit

to the nation.
* QUEENS, NY, November 14, 2009 — Gillian Mounsey, a personal trainer and CrossFit enthusiast from New York
City, completed 100 "muscle ups" in just 35 minutes in Operation Pull For Hope to raise funds for Hope For The Warriors™. The
"muscle up" is an advanced version of a pull-up done on gymnastics rings in which the motion continues until the
arms are straightened and the body is above the rings. Mounsey’s feat raised more than $55,000
* Long Island, NY, November 23, 2009 - The Town of Babylon was filled with hope on Sunday, November 8, as 1300
participants ran, walked and rolled through the streets for the 2nd Annual Run For The
Warriors™. Fifteen wounded
service members were among the participants. Close to $100,000 was raised to benefit Hope For The Warriors™.

The Warriors™. “It confirms to the wounded service members that our nation stands ready to support them as they
continue on their road to recovery.”
* New York, New York - Sunday, November 1 - Hope ran through the five boroughs of New York City as team members
from Team Hope For The Warriors™ ran the 26.2 miles as part of the 2009 ING New York City Marathon. Forty-six team members
are pushing a goal of $200,000.
* WASHINGTON, D.C., October 25, 2009 — Marine MSgt (Ret) Carl Traub lost both legs and suffered
paralysis from a severe spinal cord injury after an IED attack while serving his country in Iraq. Despite
these setbacks, he continues to serve his community and his fellow injured warriors. On October 25,
2009, Traub completed all 26.2 miles of the Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, VA on a hand cycle.
More importantly, he fulfilled a promise to the many donors that sponsored him in his quest to raise
funds for Team Hope For The Warriors™.
* WASHINGTON, D.C., October 25, 2009 — LCpl. Matt Bradford, a 22-year old Marine, completed the
Marine Corps Marathon on a hand cycle despite Iraq war injuries that include blindness and the loss of
both legs. Bradford was escorted through the course by five other Hope For The Warriors™ team
members on hand cycles, four of whom are also USMC wounded warriors. The marathon was held
Sunday, October 25 in Washington, DC and Virginia.
* NEW BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY, October 5, 2009 - Rutgers University ROTC along with Hope For The Warriors™ will
host their 2nd Annual Run for the Warriors 5K on Saturday, November 7, 2009 The race kicks off at 8:50 a.m. at

If you’re LT David Duprey, a Navy Chaplain with the Second Combat Engineer Battalion, you run a marathon.

* NORTH CAROLINA, April 24-26, 2009 - Carolina Bike Rally Makes Dream A Reality For Wounded Marine, JACKSONVILLE,
- The Carolina Bike Rally was held in Jacksonville, North Carolina, April 24-26. Steve
Winsett, promoter of the rally and a Vietnam Veteran and fellow promoter Ron Johnson, have put the wheels in motion to
make a dream come true for a wounded Marine. Corporal Zachary Fincannon, USMC, (Ret) will be attending the Carolina Bike
Rally as the Guest of Honor.
* WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, New Mexico, March 29, 2009 — Army Maj. A.J. Tong, a single-leg amputee and member of
Team Hope for the Warriors™, completed the 26.2 mile Bataan Memorial Death March at the White Sands Missile
Range on March 29, 2009 in 12 hours and 37 minutes. He completed the grueling event with the same person who had saved his life less
than two years earlier, former medic and Army reservist Adam Schwartz, also of Tacoma, the first responder on the scene when Tong’s convoy encountered
an IED in August 2007.
* JACKSONVILLE, NC, April 3, 2009 — Students in the Boys & Girls Club of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. after-school program at Clyde Erwin Elementary
collected six boxes of food for Hope for the Warriors™ Warrior Houses.
* MOUNT HOLLY, NEW JERSEY, March 30, 2009, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, 2009, marked the final night of the
High Street Grill’s 4th Annual Long Beard Contest. The seven week fundraiser was the most successful long beard
contest the restaurant has had according to restaurant owners, Nancy and John McDevitt.
* FDNY VFW Post Donates Hand-Crank Bike to Wounded Vet Matt Bradford, a Marine veteran, was seriously
injured by an AED while serving in Iraq. He lost his legs below the knee, became blind in one eye and lost partial
sight in the other.

* February 12, 2009 - Hope For The Warriors™ had the honor of attending the advanced showing of the HBO film, Taking Chance at the HBO studio in New York City.
This true story depicts the journey of highly decorated, PFC Chance Phelps from Dover DE to his hometown and place of rest in Wyoming. It is a poignant tribute to this young hero,
his family and community. The Marine Corps should be proud to see a movie so beautifully reveal the honor and dignity shown to our fallen heroes.

Annual Run For The Warriors™ was recognized and awarded the "2008 Event Of The Year".
* The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF) is pleased to announce it is awarding a $15,000 Micro Community Grant to
Hope for the Warriors. The funds will be allocated to the Warrior's Wish Program to fulfill grant wishes to severely injured
service members in an effort to restore hope in the eyes of a hero and to have experiences above and beyond their immediate needs.

Country Singer Releases Exclusive CD To Benefit Military Families - her song, Red, White and Blue Night in Georgia is a
testament to the love, pride and devotion we all share for our men and women serving our country. “I have a very strong
emotional connection to the story -- my younger brother Jake was seriously injured in Iraq by a roadside bomb at the same
time I was being pitched this song. He is home now, recovering, but he and his family have been changed forever.

* In early 2008, production began on a documentary to educate the American public about the current and ongoing needs
of the wounded service memebers and their families. The documentary will include interviews with service members who have faced their
challenges with courage and honor. The documentary will air later in the year.
* On June 17, 2008, Shannon Maxwell spoke at the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers' 2008 Annual
Training Conference in North Charleston, SC. Her topic was the "Spouses's Perspective When Dealing with wounded warriors and Hope For The Warriors".
In her speech she addressed the historical perspective, special issues when dealing with a seriously wounded spouse, available resources for both
the spouse and the injured service member, and ideas on how Veteran Service Officers can best serve both the care giving spouse and the veteran.
* The Chopper of Honor, an icon of support, will be present in bike shows and showcased in organizations across
the nation. While the bike is touring and on display, the Injured Warriors Campaign will accept contributions to help
meet the needs of injured service men and women and their families in partnership and collaboration through Hope For
The Warriors™ programs.
