* Actus Lend Lease/Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC) |
 |
|
In early 2007, AMCC donated 3 houses aboard Camp Lejeune to Hope For The Warriors®
and initiated a partnership and program Warrior House™ that has allowed Hope For The Warriors® to
effectively support not only the wounded Marines and their families in Eastern North Carolina
but the all wounded service members and their families across the country. Two of the donated
homes were made completely adaptive and are currently used as guest housing for families of the
wounded. They are also available for morale visits for husbands and wives separated during the
recovery process. The third house has been utilized by Hope For The Warriors® as an office and
Resource Center. A place where local wounded service members can come and request help, volunteer,
or simply learn more about available support. The Spouses Support Group meets here monthly.
The office and homes have provided an opportunity for the community to lend their support. Young
boys and girls have built fences and created lovely gardens as part of community service projects, while
local church and other groups have donated needed items for the families and home cooked meals when the houses are occupied.
